Caldwell County, Texas maintains this website to give residents convenient access to county information and services. This notice sets out the terms on which that information is offered, the limits of what the county can promise about it, and where to go for a record that carries legal weight.
By using this website you accept the terms below. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
Which record is the official one
This website is not the county's official record
Information published here is provided for convenience and general information only. It is a copy, and a copy can be incomplete, out of date, or wrong.
The official record of a county instrument is the one held by the office that created or recorded it — the County Clerk for recorded instruments and Commissioners Court minutes, the District Clerk for court records, the Tax Assessor-Collector for tax records, and the Elections Office for election records. Where this website and an official county record disagree, the official record governs.
If you need a record for a legal, financial or property purpose, obtain a certified copy from the office of record. Do not rely on a web page.
No warranty
The county makes a genuine effort to keep this site accurate and current. Even so, the information on it is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
In particular, the county does not warrant that:
- the information is accurate, complete, current or free of error;
- the site will be available without interruption, or free of viruses or other harmful components;
- a document reproduced here is identical to the record it was made from; or
- a fee, deadline, rate or requirement stated here has not changed since it was published.
Content may be changed, corrected or removed at any time without notice.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Caldwell County, its elected officials, officers, employees and agents are not liable for any loss or damage — direct, indirect, incidental, consequential or otherwise — arising from the use of, or the inability to use, this website or anything obtained through it.
Nothing in this notice waives, or is intended to waive, any immunity, defence or protection available to the county under Texas law, and nothing here creates a right or cause of action against the county that would not otherwise exist.
Not legal, financial or professional advice
Nothing on this website is legal advice, financial advice, tax advice or professional advice of any kind, and using the site creates no attorney‑client or other professional relationship.
County staff can explain a process and point you to a form. They cannot advise you on what to do in your own matter, tell you how a court will rule, or complete a legal document for you. If you need advice, consult a licensed attorney or other qualified professional.
Where this site summarises a statute or regulation, the summary is offered as a plain-language aid. The text of the law itself controls, and it may have been amended since the page was written.
Links to other websites
This site links to websites operated by other governments, cities, school districts, state agencies and private organisations. Those links are offered for convenience.
A link is not an endorsement. The county does not control the linked site, does not review or approve its content, and is not responsible for its accuracy, its availability, its accessibility, or its privacy practices. Once you leave this site you are subject to the terms and the privacy policy of the site you have reached.
If you find a broken or inappropriate link, please report it to the webmaster.
Third-party services and embedded content
Some functions are delivered by outside providers — video of public meetings, online payment processing, and mapping among them. Those services operate under their own terms and their own privacy policies, and their availability and accessibility are outside the county’s control.
Where a payment is taken by an outside processor, any convenience or processing fee is set and retained by that processor, not by the county, unless a county page says otherwise.
Acceptable use
You may read, print and download material from this site for personal, non-commercial use, and for any use permitted by the Texas Public Information Act.
You may not:
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to this site, its server, or any connected system;
- upload, transmit or introduce malicious code, or otherwise interfere with the site’s operation;
- use automated means to place an unreasonable load on the site, or to circumvent its rate limits;
- harvest personal information from the site for solicitation, or use county contact details to send unsolicited commercial messages; or
- misrepresent the county, or present county content in a way that implies endorsement.
Unauthorised access is a criminal offence
Knowingly accessing a computer, computer network or computer system without the effective consent of the owner is an offence under Chapter 33 of the Texas Penal Code (Computer Crimes). Under section 33.02 the baseline offence is a Class B misdemeanor, and it is raised to a state jail felony where the computer is owned by government. Attempts to breach this site’s security may be reported to law enforcement and prosecuted.
Copyright and reuse
Much of the material on this site is public information that you are free to obtain and reuse. Some material is not the county’s to license — photographs, maps, seals, logos, software and documents supplied by third parties may be protected by copyright or trademark held by someone else, and the county cannot grant you rights it does not hold.
The Caldwell County seal is an official emblem. Do not use it in a way that suggests county endorsement or that a private communication is an official county communication.
If you are unsure whether you may reuse something, ask the webmaster before you publish it.
Availability and emergencies
Do not rely on this website in an emergency
This website is not an emergency notification system and may be unavailable during exactly the events you most want information about. In an emergency, call 911.
For emergency alerts, use the county’s alert notification service and monitor local broadcast media. Road, weather and closure information published here may lag actual conditions.
