Expunctions

An expunction is the legal process for removing and destroying records of an arrest and the resulting case. It is governed by Chapter 55 of the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure. Eligibility is not automatic — it is strictly defined by the circumstances of the arrest and the case.

This list is not all-inclusive

The agencies below are the ones typically involved in a Caldwell County expunction. Any other agency that holds or has published information about the arrest or charge in your petition should also be included. The District Clerk's office is not liable if the list does not name an agency holding information that needs to be expunged, and cannot advise you on whom to serve — that is a legal question for your attorney.
