About this inspection
A Form VTR-68-A vehicle identification inspection verifies a vehicle’s or trailer’s identification numbers for titling purposes. Texas law requires it in certain title situations — for example a vehicle without a VIN, an assembled or homemade trailer, or a title issue the county tax office has asked you to resolve. The inspection is performed by a certified peace officer. In Precinct 1, the Constable’s Office conducts these inspections by appointment.
Inspections are by appointment only, in 30-minute time slots during the office’s posted hours.
Submitting this form requests an appointment
It is not confirmed until the Constable’s Office reviews it. You will get an email confirming we received your request, and another when it is approved or if the office cannot accommodate it.
