The $1.00 courthouse security fee has ended
Since January 1, 2024 this office no longer charges the $1.00 courthouse security fee. Senate Bill 1612 repealed it under Local Government Code chapter 291.
Assumed names (DBA)
A business operating under a name other than the owner's legal name files an assumed name certificate with this office. The form is on the forms and fees page; bring valid photo identification, and note that the certificate must be signed in front of a notary or in front of the Clerk.
Marks and brands
Livestock marks and brands are registered with the County Clerk and must be re-registered periodically. Call (512) 398-1804 for the current renewal period and fee.
Military discharge records (DD-214)
Veterans may record a discharge record with the County Clerk and obtain certified copies. Recording a DD-214 and obtaining copies of it is free to the veteran. A recorded military discharge is confidential for 75 years and may be released only to the veteran, their next of kin, or a person the veteran designates.
